Guidebooks describe Cambodia from the outside. Local Stories collects short public posts made by Cambodians about their own cities, festivals, food and everyday life, so you can see a place the way the people who live there choose to show it. Every story stays with its creator: we embed the original post, credit it by name and link back to the source.

Creator stories are on the way
We are preparing a small, carefully chosen set of videos from people who share Cambodia well. Check back soon, or suggest a creator.
How stories are chosen
Made by people who know the placeWe look for creators who live in, grew up in or have a close connection to the place or tradition they show.
Public and shareableWe only feature posts that are already public and that the platform allows to be embedded. We never re-upload or edit a creator’s work.
Respectful of the people on cameraWe skip posts that expose children, private ceremonies or people in vulnerable moments, even when they are popular.
Useful to a visitorEach story is linked to a place or practical guide, so watching can lead to planning a respectful visit.
What creators keep
Credit
Your name first
Every card shows the creator’s name and handle, with links to the profile and the original post.
Ownership
Your work stays yours
We embed rather than copy. Views and engagement stay on the original platform, and we claim no rights over the content.
Control
Update or removal
If you delete or change a post, the embed follows. You can also ask us to update the credit or remove the story at any time.
Watching and sharing respectfully
Many stories show celebrations such as the Water Festival, religious observances or family life. If a story inspires you to visit, read our guide to Cambodian festivals for how to join in as a guest, and our respectful photography guide before filming people yourself. When you reshare a creator’s post, share the original link and keep their credit.
Suggest a creator or request a change
Are you a Cambodian creator, or do you follow one whose work helps visitors understand the country? Use the contact route on our corrections page with “Local Stories” in the subject and a link to the public post. Creators featured here can use the same route to update a credit or remove a story. We review every suggestion, but cannot feature them all.
Frequently asked questions
How is a story connected to a guide?
Each card is tagged with the place it shows, and the links below the stories lead to the matching destination, festival or practical guide. Our editorial standards explain how we source and review everything else on the site.
Why does a story not play?
Stories load from the original platform only when you press play. If a post has been removed or made private, or the platform is blocked on your network, open the original link instead.
Can I use a video from this page?
Ask the creator directly. The work belongs to them, not to Cambodia Handbook.
