Two weeks gives Cambodia room to breathe. The strongest first route combines Phnom Penh and Siem Reap with one contrasting region, while preserving arrival, transfer and rest time.
Days 1–3: Phnom Penh
Arrive gently, explore Khmer art and everyday city life, and approach difficult historical sites with time for reflection.
Days 4–7: Siem Reap and Angkor
Spread Angkor across several mornings. Include city life, food and countryside so the destination is not reduced to temples alone.
Days 8–12: choose one extension
South: Kampot and Kep
Best for river, food, agriculture and coast with manageable road connections.
Northwest: Battambang
Best for a creative city, rural landscapes and an easy complement to Siem Reap.
East: Kratie and Mondulkiri
Best for the Mekong and highlands, but requires more road time and stronger buffers.
Days 13–14: return and depart
Return to the departure city before the final day. Use the last full day for an easy neighbourhood, meal or museum rather than gambling the flight on a long same-day transfer.
